Bronze pendant, featuring a hare.

Designed and hand made by Tishpa in the Causeway Coast area of Northern Ireland.

Materials.  Bronze clay, gold plated chain, sterling silver paste for accents.

This 9.0 g pendant is constructed from bronze clay. It is a free form pendant  and features a hare looking out through grasses and flowers. The circular shape was created and then layered with grass, flowers and the hares head. The piece was double fired using a kiln, to give a solid bronze piece. The pendant measures 29 x 29 mm.  After creation the piece is given silver accents using silver paste. It is them cleaned and polished, a thin costing of clear resin is applied to  reduce tarnishing of the item.  A circular bail is used to suspend the pendant on an adjustable, gold plated  chain, maximum length 46 cm.

I was inspired to create this piece after I discovered a hare sitting on a patio at the back of my home.
