Silver Hornbeam leaf pendant and chain

Designed and hand made by Tishpa in the Causeway Coast area of Northern Ireland.

All my pieces are unique and handcrafted.

Material fine silver clay 99.9% silver (0.1% copper),sterling  silver wire bail , sterling silver chain 

This  unique  piece is made and patterned using fine silver clay which is mixed to a paste. It is applied to the back of the leaf in multiple  thin coats. This leaf has 18 coats of silver paste.  When dry  and refined, the actual leaf is removed, leaving the fine details on the silver clay.  It is kiln fired, leaving a fine silver piece.  A sterling silver  wire  bail is attached to the back of the leaf to allow suspension  from sterling silver a chain.   The piece  is cleaned and polished to a shiny finish.   Each piece of jewellery I make is different. This one is as unique as the leaf  I used as a template. I believe everyone should have jewellery pieces that are unique to them. 

It is a simple piece of jewellery , yet it looks dramatic.

The pendant is suspended on a 45 cm Sterling Silver chain.   The pendant  measures 2.9 x 1.5 cm at the widest points.  The piece has been hallmarked by the Irish assay Office  Dublin castle
